What is Occupational therapy?

Do I need a referral from my child's doctor?
This depends on your insurance. Most likely, yes. If you are not using insurance, you do not need a referral.

What happens during an occupational therapy evaluation?
The evaluation includes: Parent interview and developmental history; Clinical observations and standardized assessments; Input from teachers or caregivers (if applicable); A written report with assessment results, recommendations, and individualized goals
How long and how often are OT sessions?
Most sessions are 60 minutes and are scheduled once or twice per week, depending on your child’s needs. Frequency is determined based on the evaluation and collaboratively with the family.
